A few random thoughts, realizing that it's been about a week since I found out and I still feel quite sad and miserable about this...I was driving home and listening to "Now Here is Nowhere"...I still think this album is just incredible...musing about the great TSM shows I've seen in the past 2 years...these shows had the most remarkable intimacy and were so all encompassing because the music was on such a high plane..one thing I will definitely miss is Ben's voice in conjunction with Brandon's..both of their voices are quite unique...I'll also miss screaming "the rest is theft" at the concerts, silly as that is...and here it is spring finally and...oh, @@**&!!!!

ok, I may get ripped for this, but here goes.
Yes this is sad news, and I can understand those who have not seen them live as a 3 piece never will, but thats only in the same way probably 99.9% of this forum never saw the beatles live.
To get it in perspective, no-one has died. Yet people are acting like one of them has. Yes its not the best thing to read, but lets just thank Ben for the wonderful music and shows that have been such a pleasure to listen to/attend. You couldn't meet nicer guys in music either.
But I'd like to think of their name for a moment, 'secret machines'. And they are a secret. They've never headlined a festival like the chili peppers or oasis would. They will never sell 40 million albums. And to me, the fact that they remain this 'secret' to such a few people almost makes me glad.
I know that may all sound terrible, but the fact I knew if they had a local gig coming up it wouldn't be full of scenesters made them that little bit special.
That and the fact TSM are frickin ace of course
Cheers guys

Why are all 3 of them advertised on the High Line festival ?

Either they didn't have a new picture or maybe hopefully they're doing one last show together. I don't know if that will make things better or worse....but I'm going no matter what!

Do you not understand that some people are just a little upset that they will never see TSM as a 3 piece again ? It can't be 'that' hard to work out, surely ?

James, a little tip. Write on a piece of paper what you are going to put on here, then think about it for a few minutes. You will save yourself the embarrasment. *passes james a spade to keep digging his hole*
